Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Toivakka to take a Team Finland
Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Lenita Toivakka will visit Paris on a Team Finland trip on 22 October. Toivakka will participate in the international SIAL Food Exhibition, where Finland has is own Food from Finland pavilion. The Finnish national pavilion is part of the Team Finland programme launched for the food sector in September and features eight Finnish food industry enterprises. Minister Toivakka will also visit other Finnish stands at the exhibition.
“Only 13 per cent of Finnish SMEs in the food sector operate on the international market. I am glad of this opportunity to encourage new Finnish SMEs to reach for international markets and to be able to assist the current actors in their export efforts in this situation where our food exporters are looking for new markets.” says Toivakka. “I am confident that high-quality, pure and innovative food products from Finland find their audience at the SIAL Exhibition.”
While in Paris, Minister Toivakka will also meet with Harlem Désir, French Secretary of State for European Affairs, and Mari Kiviniemi, OECD Deputy Secretary-General responsible for trade policy.
