On Wednesday 2 October, Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will meet France’s new Delegate Minister for Foreign Trade and French Nationals Abroad Sophie Primas and the new Minister of State for Francophonie and International Partnerships, Thani Mohamed Soilihi, to discuss topical trade and development policy issues.

Minister Tavio will also meet with the OECD’s Secretary-General Mathias Cormann and Deputy Secretary-General Mary Beth Goodman

“The OECD plays an important role in the reconstruction of Ukraine and in promoting good governance, strengthening the rule of law, combating corruption and creating a stable business environment,” says Minister Tavio.

Minister Tavio will also attend a session of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) discussing the peer review report on Finland’s development cooperation.

The DAC conducts peer reviews of the development cooperation programmes of its member countries approximately every 6 to 7 years. Peer review offers recommendations to Finland concerning development policy and development cooperation. The launch of the peer review report will be held in Helsinki in December 2024.
