Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski to visit Finland
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski will visit Finland on Monday, 8 June. Sikorski will conduct the official discussions with Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Stubb over a business lunch.
On the day after the European Parliament elections, the focus of discussions between the Foreign Ministers will be on the outlook for the EU and EU external relations issues, among them especially the relations with Russia, EU’s new Eastern Partnership and transatlantic cooperation. The cooperation prospects in the Baltic Sea region will be examined from the points of view of both the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the Northern Dimension, and the ministers will also discuss the possibility of enhancing the conservation measures of the Baltic Sea. After the discussions, the Ministers will sign a Convention between Finland and Poland for the Avoidance of Double Taxation.
In addition to meeting Minister Stubb, Foreign Minister Sikorski will visit Parliament, where he will meet Speaker of the Finnish Parliament Sauli Niinistö, and the Mannerheim Museum, where he will meet Chief of Defence of the Finnish Defence Forces Juhani Kaskeala. Sikorsky’s final stop will be a visit at the Nokia Group headquarters.
