Minister Tavio to join President Stubb and his spouse Innes-Stubb on state visit to Lithuania

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will visit Lithuania on 13–15 May 2026 as a member of the official delegation accompanying President of the Republic Alexander Stubb on his state visit. Minister Tavio will also attend the programme for the business delegation.

The main themes of the state visit will be closer bilateral relations between Finland and Lithuania, comprehensive security, technology cooperation and defence industry, as well as Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine and support to Ukraine.

In Lithuania, Minister Ville Tavio will meet Minister of Foreign Affairs Kestutis Budrys and Minister of the Economy and Innovation Edvinas Grikšas. The topics on the agenda include bilateral trade and economic relations and the EU trade policy.

Minister Tavio will also participate in a business forum on defence industry, defence and dual-use technologies and resilience.

The business delegation is composed of representatives of Basemark, Bittium, Confoot, Conlog, Exote, Gasgrid Finland, Gasmet Technologies, Image Soft, Insta, KNL Networks, KT-Shelter, Millog, Mirka, Modirum Platforms, NestAI, Nokia, Savox Communications, Sisu Auto, Patria, Perustava Group, Reaktor Defence and Security, Savcor, Sensofusion, Temet Group, Varjo Technologies, Verona Shelters Group and YIT.

“Lithuania is a close trade partner and ally for Finland.  The themes of the business delegation – defence, critical infrastructure and resilience – are highly topical and offer excellent opportunities to further expand our cooperation,” Minister Tavio says.
