Minister Tavio to join President Stubb and his wife Innes-Stubb on state visit to the Netherlands
Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will visit the Netherlands on 11–12 December as part of the official delegation accompanying President of the Republic Alexander Stubb on his state visit. Minister Tavio will also attend the programme for the business delegation.
The state visit will focus on closer bilateral relations between Finland and the Netherlands, comprehensive security, the energy and maritime industries and support to Ukraine.
During his visit, Minister Ville Tavio will meet the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Aukje de Vries. The Ministers will discuss bilateral trade and economic ties and the EU’s trade relations.
Minister Tavio will visit the port of Rotterdam with the business delegation and promote cooperation opportunities created by the energy transition. He will also attend a business event on European security and defence industry cooperation.
The business delegation will include representatives from Neste, Gasgrid, Fortum, P2X Solutions, ABB Finland, Solnet, Thermal Storage Finland, Hycamite, Outokumpu, Nokia, Patria, Hiab, Insta, Bittium, Reaktor, KT-Shelter, Sensofusion, ICEYE, Marine Alutec and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
“The Netherlands is a very important trading partner and ally for Finland. During the state visit, the business delegation will focus on defence, security and resilience, alongside sustainable development and energy security – key areas of our trade relations and central to the concept of comprehensive security,” Minister Tavio says.
