Minister Tavio to join Team Finland trade mission to Poland
Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will visit Warsaw on 26–27 January with a business delegation focusing on comprehensive security and the energy industry. This will be the first Team Finland trade mission since the reform of its international operations.
Minister Ville Tavio will hold high-level meetings at Poland’s Ministry of Finance and meet representatives of business and industry. The delegation includes around 20 companies, and experts from the Team Finland network. The aim is to open new business opportunities, promote partnerships and support Finnish SMEs in accessing the Polish market.
The main themes of the mission are comprehensive security and energy. Poland is currently investing heavily in both sectors, and Finnish businesses have solutions to offer for the Polish market. Support for Ukraine and Poland’s unique vantage point on the Ukrainian market are also on the agenda.
“Finnish businesses have strong expertise in comprehensive security solutions, particularly in the design and construction of civil defence shelters. The modernisation of Poland’s energy grid will create significant opportunities for leveraging Finnish know-how. The visit to Warsaw will offer a chance to deepen cooperation between Poland and Finland and build new partnerships,” says Minister Tavio.
The Warsaw mission is the first Team Finland trade promotion visit since Business Finland’s functions abroad were integrated into the Foreign Service at the start of 2026.
