Minister Tavio to visit France
Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will travel to Paris on 1–4 June to meet his French ministerial colleague and representatives of local businesses and industry. After a programme of bilateral meetings, Minister Tavio will attend the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting as part of a delegation led by Finland’s Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
During his visit, Minister Ville Tavio will meet Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade Nicolas Forissier. The ministers will discuss bilateral trade and economic relations, the EU trade policy and the French G7 Presidency, among other themes.
Minister Tavio will also meet representatives of local businesses and industry and open a networking event on quantum technology and digital resilience, organised by the Team Finland network in France.
“France is a close partner and ally for Finland, and we seek to further strengthen our cooperation. We see significant opportunities for expanding our commercial relations. For example, combining quantum technology with high-performance computing and artificial intelligence offers interesting new opportunities for cooperation,” says Minister Tavio.
After the bilateral meetings, Minister Tavio will attend the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting as part of a delegation led by Prime Minister Petteri Orpo. Finland will chair this year’s meeting.
