The Ministry for Foreign Affairs updated its travel bulletin concerning Syria on 25 April. The Ministry recommends avoiding travel to Syria, and people already in the country are urged to consider leaving unless their presence there is absolutely necessary.
Security in Syria has declined dramatically in the past few weeks. Uncurbed violence has occurred in several Syrian cities. The Embassy urges travellers not to go to the country at all. Those in Syria are encouraged to consider leaving the country unless their presence there is absolutely necessary.
People leaving the country must note that Syria closed the border between Syria and Jordan on 25 April. There is no information as to when the border will be reopened.
