Press release
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will begin cooperation negotiations at its Service Centre for Entry Permits in Kouvola. The negotiations concern the officials who process visa applications at the centre.
The cooperation procedure will begin on 14 October and the negotiations will begin on 31 October. The negotiations will last at least six weeks in accordance with the procedure.
The grounds for the negotiations are production-related. The number of visa applications received by Finland has been decreasing for a longer period due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it has continued to decline significantly since the Government adopted its resolution restricting tourism from Russia to Finland on 29 September 2022.
