New Ambassador to Brazil and non-resident Ambassadors to Liechtenstein and Ecuador
At the presidential session on Friday 29 August, the President of the Republic appointed Antti Kaski to serve as Ambassador in Brasília. The President of the Republic appointed Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Bern to serve as a non-resident Ambassador to Liechtenstein, and Head of Mission at the Embassy in Lima to serve as a non-resident Ambassador to Ecuador.
Embassy of Finland in Brasília, Brazil
At the presidential session on 29 August 2025, the President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Antti Kaski to serve as Head of Mission at Finland’s Embassy in Brasília, starting on 1 September 2025.
Kaski will move to Brazil from Finland’s Embassy in Bogota, Colombia, where he has served as Ambassador since 2021. In the Finnish Diplomatic Service, Kaski has prior experience from Berlin, where he served as Deputy Head of Mission, and from the Permanent Representation to the EU and Embassy in Vienna. Kaski worked as a researcher and diplomatic advisor at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy in 2010–2013.
At the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Kaski has served as Director for Policy Planning and Research and worked at the Department for External Economic Relations and at the Political Department in the Unit for Security Policy.
Kaski joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1998. He holds the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations and Affairs.
Embassy of Finland in Bern, Switzerland (non-resident Ambassador to Liechtenstein)
The President of the Republic appointed Ambassador Okko-Pekka Salmimies, Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Bern as of 1 September 2025, to serve as a non-resident Ambassador to Liechtenstein.
Embassy of Finland in Lima, Peru (non-resident Ambassador to Ecuador)
The President of the Republic appointed Ambassador Lasse Keisalo, Head of Mission at the Embassy of Finland in Lima as of 1 September 2025, to serve as a non-resident Ambassador to Ecuador.
