New Ambassador to New Delhi and side accreditations to Rwanda and Libya
At the presidential session on Friday 25 October, the President of the Republic appointed a new Head of Mission to New Delhi and decided on two side accreditations.
The President of the Republic appointed Counsellor for Foreign Affairs Ritva Koukku-Ronde to serve as Head of Finland’s Embassy in New Delhi from 1 December 2019.
Koukku-Ronde has previously served as Finland's Ambassador in Berlin (2015–2019) and Washington DC (2011–2015). In the Ministry, she was Under-Secretary of State for Development Policy in 2009–2011.
Before that, Koukku-Ronde was Director General of the Department for Development Policy and Deputy Director General of the Department for Europe. Her career in the Diplomatic Service includes posts in Bonn, Berlin, The Hague and Nairobi.
Koukku-Ronde joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1985. She holds a Master of Arts degree.
The President of the Republic also decided to accredit Ambassador Riitta Swan to represent Finland in Rwanda and Ambassador Pekka Hukka to represent Finland in Libya.
