Pasi Rajala appointed as Prime Minister Katainen's Special Adviser in EU Affairs
Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen has appointed Master of Social Sciences Pasi Rajala as Special Adviser in EU Affairs. Mr Rajala will take up his duties on 1 July 2012 when the current office holder, Juho Romakkaniemi, will transfer to the European Commission as a member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Olli Rehn.
Before transferring to his duties as Katainen's Special Adviser in EU Affairs, Mr Rajala will act as Special Adviser to Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade Alexander Stubb in April-May for the duration of the office holder Lauri Tierala's parental leave.
Mr Rajala is currently employed as International Affairs Secretary for the National Coalition Party. He has also had a long career representing international organisations and consulting firms in the communications sector. In autumn 2011, he acted three months as Special Adviser to Prime Minister Katainen in EU Affairs.
