President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss current situation in Ukraine, situation in Strait of Hormuz and Finland’s participation in G20 cooperation
In their meeting on Tuesday 12 May, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the current situation in Ukraine and the need to continue to provide strong support for Ukraine and increase pressure on Russia.
The President and the Ministerial Committee discussed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and international efforts to safeguard freedom of navigation in the strait.
The President and the Ministerial Committee also discussed Finland’s preparations for the
summit of NATO’s Eastern Flank and the Nordic countries in Bucharest on 13 May and the Meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Helsingborg, Sweden on 21–22 May.
In addition, the meeting included a discussion on Finland’s participation in the activities of the G20.
