President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss Finland’s forthcoming OSCE chairpersonship and the current situation in the Middle East
On Friday 16 August, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed Finland’s preparations for its chairpersonship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2025 and the priorities of its chairpersonship programme.
The President and Ministerial Committee also discussed the tense situation in the Middle East and the situation of Finnish nationals in the region. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has recommended avoiding all travel to Lebanon, Israel, the Palestinian territories and Iran. Finnish nationals still in Lebanon have been urged to leave the country.
