President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss preparation of Government’s Defence Report and Security Strategy for Society

In their meeting on Friday 25 October, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the preparation of the Government’s Defence Report.

The President and the Ministerial Committee also discussed the Security Committee’s draft of the Security Strategy for Society, which will be issued as a government resolution. The Security Strategy for Society describes the comprehensive security model in which authorities, businesses, organisations and citizens cooperate to secure the functions vital for society.

In addition, the President and the Ministerial Committee received an update on relations between Finland and the United States, discussed Finland’s support to Ukraine and reaffirmed Finland’s commitment to continuing support both bilaterally and through multilateral structures.
