The Nordic, Baltic and UK prime ministers will convene for a Northern Future Forum in Stockholm on 8-9 February to discuss ways to promote long-term sustainable growth. The forum, hosted by Sweden, will bring together prime ministers from nine countries and it is a continuation to the UK-Nordic-Baltic cooperation meeting that took place in Great Britain a year before. Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen will represent Finland in the Stockholm meeting.

In addition to long-term growth, the forum will discuss how to enable citizens to make full use of their potential and maximize the general well-being. In the times of economic turbulence and debt crises, the forum aims to address the key challenges of tomorrow and, by doing so, pave way for inclusive and growth-oriented society. This second meeting will look at two concrete questions: 1) How to get more women as entrepreneurs and leaders, 2) How to get senior citizens to stay in the labour force.

The prime ministers will discuss these issues together with experts and practitioners from all nine countries. The event will be concluded in a plenary session open to media where the results will be presented.
