Prime Minister Marin to attend summit in Moldova
On 1 June, Prime Minister Sanna Marin will attend the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Chisinau, Moldova.
The heads of state or government of the 27 EU Member States and 20 European countries outside the EU have been invited to take part in the summit. Its goal is to promote cooperation between the EU and its European partners, thereby advancing the EU’s values and interests in its neighbouring areas.
The Chisinau meeting will focus on security, energy and strengthening contacts between the participating countries. In Finland’s view, it is important to strengthen the common policy on supporting Ukraine and also to provide support to Moldova.
The first meeting of the EPC took place in Prague on 6 October 2022. The EPC was first proposed by French President Macron, and the matter was discussed at the European Council in June 2022.
