Prime Minister Orpo to attend European Political Community Summit in Tirana

Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will represent Finland at the Summit of the European Political Community (EPC) in Tirana, Albania on Friday 16 May. Leaders from 47 European countries will take part in the meeting, along with representatives from the EU, NATO, the OSCE and the Council of Europe.
The theme of the 6th EPC Summit is New Europe in a New World. In addition to the plenary session, the meeting will include discussions in small groups. Prime Minister Orpo will participate in the small group session on security in Europe.
“At this meeting, it is very important for Europe to strengthen its support for Ukraine,” said Prime Minister Orpo.
The EPC is an informal discussion forum that aims to strengthen security, stability and prosperity throughout Europe. Its first meeting was held in Prague in 2022.
“Dialogue between European leaders is important because it increases trust and understanding. In addition to our joint discussions, EPY meetings provide a good opportunity for bilateral talks,” said Prime Minister Orpo.
