The European Commission hopes to receive a large number of responses to its questionnaire concerning the so-called Anti-Boycott Regulation. The questionnaire will be open until midnight on 4 November 2021 Finnish time.

The purpose of the amendment to the Council Regulation is to deter the unlawful extra-territorial application of sanctions to EU operators by countries outside the EU.

At the same time, the aim is to streamline the application of EU rules, for example by reducing compliance costs for EU citizens and businesses. The European Commission will proceed with the legislative amendment on the basis of the responses it receives.

The questionnaire is open to all private individuals, companies and organisations and responses can be given in Finnish or in any other official language of the European Union.

You can respond to the questionnaire on the website of the European Commission. The link takes to the English website but you can change the language into Finnish at the top of the page.

Inquiries: Mikael Ruotsi, Legal Officer, Unit for Public International law
