Secretary General of Nordic Council of Ministers to visit Finland
The Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Karen Ellemann, will visit Helsinki from 10 to 11 October and meet Finnish Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anders Adlercreutz.
The meeting between Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anders Adlercreutz and Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers Karen Ellemann on 11 October will focus on matters including preparations for Finland’s Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2025.
“At the heart of Nordic cooperation is the vision of the most sustainable and integrated region by 2030. Almost all ministries will participate in the preparation and implementation of Finland’s Presidency in their own sectors. The presidency will be carried out in co-operation with the Government of Åland,” Minister Adlercreutz says.
The Nordic Council of Ministers is the official collaborative body of the governments of the Nordic countries. The Nordic prime ministers have the main responsibility for Nordic cooperation. In addition, each member country’s government has a minister for Nordic cooperation, who coordinates the cooperation. Sectoral ministers have councils of ministers in their respective administrative branches. The Secretariat of the Nordic Council of Ministers is based in Copenhagen.
Apart from Minister Adlercreutz, Secretary General Ellemann will also meet parliamentary members of the Finnish Delegation to the Nordic Council, and representatives of Nordic financial institutions and Finland-based joint Nordic institutions.
