Sirkku Linna appointed as Prime Minister Katainen's Special Adviser in Political Affairs
Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen has appointed Sirkku Linna (36), Master of Social Sciences and Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration), as his Special Adviser in Political Affairs. Ms Linna has attended to the duties of the political adviser since September.
Before the current position, Linna served for five years as Katainen's special adviser in economic affairs both at the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Finance. Earlier, Linna was employed by the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries where she was responsible for public affairs, interest representation and EU coordination.
Prime Minister Katainen has appointed his current special adviser in parliamentary affairs Joonas Turunen (27) as his new special adviser in economic affairs. Before becoming a special adviser, Turunen worked as Communications Secretary for the National Coalition Party parliamentary group in 2010–2011. He also held different positions at the IBM technology service unit in 2008–2010.
For the present, Turunen will also be responsible for the duties of the Prime Minister's special adviser in parliamentary affairs.
