Secretary of State Peter Stenlund will attend the Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, OSCE, in Hamburg, Germany, on 8–9 December. The annual meeting will be organised at the invitation of Germany, which is the current OSCE Chairmanship. The key themes on the agenda of the Ministerial Council will be the situation in Ukraine, arms control and human rights.

The objective of the OSCE Ministerial Council is to adopt decisions that support the organisation’s work in topical questions, such as strengthening cyber security, fight against terrorism, promoting the rights of persons with disability, and intensifying cooperation between different authorities under the organisation in matters related to migration. Finland is a firm advocate of decisions that support the strengthening of human rights and the promotion of equality.
