Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong visits Finland
The Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China, Liu Yandong, will visit Finland on 11-14 June on the invitation of Prime Minister Juha Sipilä. The meeting will focus on bilateral relations between Finland and China.
Prime Minister Sipilä and Vice Premier Liu will meet in Kesäranta, the Prime Minister's Official Residence, on Friday 12 June. Their discussions will focus on cooperation between the countries in the fields of education and culture, trade and economic relations in the fields of innovation and health care, cooperation in Arctic affairs and relations between the EU and China. The meeting will conclude with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation on strengthening comprehensive cooperation on education (Learning Garden) and another memorandum on the establishment of cultural centres.
During her visit, Vice Premier Liu will also have meetings with President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö, Speaker of Parliament Maria Lohela and Minister of Education and Culture Sanni Grahn-Laasonen. In addition, Mr Liu will meet Mayor of Helsinki Jussi Pajunen and receive information on the programme of the Helsinki Festival. This year, the theme of the Festival is China.
