Prime Minister Sipilä to attend Special European Council
Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will attend a special meeting of the European Council (Art. 50) to be held in Brussels on Wednesday 10 April. The European Council will discuss the latest developments on Brexit and decide on the next steps in the withdrawal process.
In its votes on 15 January, 12 March and 29 March, the UK House of Commons voted against the withdrawal agreement negotiated with the EU. The United Kingdom is expected to indicate a way forward by the meeting of the European Council. Unless other measures have been agreed on by 12 April, the United Kingdom will leave the EU without a withdrawal agreement.
