Hankkeessa valmistellaan hallituksen esitys luonnonsuojelulain ennallistamisasetuksen (EU) 2024/1991 ensi vaiheen edellyttämistä säädösmuutoksista eli kansallisen ennallistamissuunnitelman valmistelusta ja päättämisestä sekä muutoksenhausta sekä luonnonsuojelulain 11 luvun mukaisesti tuotettujen luonnonarvohehtaareiden käyttämisestä myös muuhun kuin ekologiseen kompensaatioon ja luonnonarvokauppaan. Lisäksi suden suojelustatusta muutetaan luontodirektiivin muutosta vastaavasti ja tehdään eräitä vähäisiä teknisiä muutoksia.
