24.10.2023 | PhD Mika Tirronen has been appointed to the position of Knowledge specialist in higher education and science policy in Singapore. A Knowledge specialist is an official of the Foreign Service who works under the Finnish Embassy in Singapore. The Ministry of Education and Culture is responsible for the position's content-related guidance.

21.1.2025 | Veera Virmasalo, (MA), has been appointed to the post of Senior Specialist in Higher Education and Science Policy at the Embassy of Finland in Pretoria from 14 January 2025 to 31 July 2027. Team Finland Knowledge experts are responsible for monitoring higher education and science policy, promoting cooperation opportunities and making Finnish higher education institutions better known in their designated country.

12.11.2019 | Minister of Economic Affairs Katri Kulmuni will visit Singapore on 13–15 November 2019 to promote Finnish exports and the internationalisation of Finnish businesses. The purpose of Minister Kulmuni’s visit is to highlight Finnish know-how and promote the business and innovation projects of Finnish companies, particularly those involved in health technology, the circular economy, intelligent building solutions and cyber security capabilities.

29.1.2024 | Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman will lead a Team Finland visit to Indonesia from 29 January to 1 February 2024. A business delegation of 22 people from 15 different companies and organisations will participate in the trip. Rydman’s programme includes several ministerial meetings. In addition, a letter of intent between the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the authority responsible for the relocation of the Indonesian capital will be signed during the visit.

18.6.2024 | The results of the OECD's Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2022 Creative Thinking assessment were published on 18 June 2024. The assessment measured how 15-year-olds in the participating countries were able to generate solutions for problems in everyday contexts. 16.6.2022 | On 13 July, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will organise a discussion where representatives of international trade and different companies will look into future prospects of export trade, which are overshadowed by the war in Ukraine and rivalry between the great powers.

9.9.2022 | With the Ministry for Foreign Affairs having appointed Sari Tojkander and Johanna Kivimäki as senior specialists in higher education and research to Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, the Team Finland Knowledge network is further expanding. Besides the newly appointed members, the network established by the Ministry of Education and Culture includes seven other higher education and science specialists, stationed in London, Moscow, New Delhi, Beijing, Pretoria, Singapore and Washington.

5.12.2023 | Findings of the OECD’s PISA 2022 (Programme for International Student Assessment) show that while the performance of Finnish young people has deteriorated, it remains above the OECD average. PISA 2022 focused on mathematical literacy.

8.12.2022 | On her Team Finland visit, Minister of Employment Tuula Haatainen will meet key authorities and companies promoting immigration of labour. A Declaration of Intent between India and Finland aimed at sustainably promoting immigration of labour will be signed on the visit. A broad delegation of companies and public administration representatives promoting immigration of skilled labour will accompany Minister Haatainen on the visit. 

24.11.2025 | Undervisningsminister Anders Adlercreutz besöker Thailand och Singapore den 24–28 november. Under resan kommer ministern att besöka flera skolor och läroanstalter samt tala på ett flertal tillställningar. Ministern träffar också studerande både i Thailand och Singapore.

25.11.2021 | Restrictions on external border traffic will continue as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread. Despite the increase in vaccination coverage, there is still a risk that the carrying capacity of the healthcare system will be exceeded. For this reason, the validity of the decision made on 4 November will be extended until 19 December. However, people may still enter Finland from all countries upon presenting an approved certificate of a full course of vaccination.

The first meeting arranged by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) on 4 August 2020 was also attended by representatives from IMO, International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA), and International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH).

22.7.2021 | On 22 July, the Government approved amendments to the decree aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 infections to Finland from abroad. People arriving in Finland are required to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or of recovery from COVID-19 within the past six months. Those who show proof of one of the above will not be subject to other health security obligations upon arrival in Finland.
