Besides the reconciliation of different needs, new objectives have also been included. Among the topics concerned are the economic benefit from the operations of Metsähallitus to the State and promotion of biodiversity and renewable energy.

The decisions focus on reinforcing the conditions for economic growth and enhancing the security of Finland and the Finnish people. 3.10.2023 | Between 2017 and 2022, companies and municipalities that have signed energy efficiency agreements introduced nearly 25,000 different energy efficiency measures. The measures saved 12.5 terawatt hours of energy, which corresponds to the annual energy use of 625,000 electrically heated single-family houses.

31.3.2022 | An aid scheme is proposed for electricity-intensive industries to compensate for the indirect costs of emissions trading on the price of electricity. The Government submitted a proposal on this to Parliament on 31 March 2022. The act is scheduled to enter into force in summer 2022.
