7.5.2026 | Based on the 2025 hydrogen auction of its Innovation Fund, the European Commission has selected nine projects that will proceed to agreement negotiations. Among them is the Cloudberry project of Finland’s Vetyalfa Oy. The Commission published the results of the auction on 7 May 2026.

On 7.11.25, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment appointed a working group to consider solutions to problems related to low-priced imports. The task of the working group is to identify all the national and EU-level solutions that can be used to address the problems caused by low-priced imports. In addition to surveying the means, a proposal will be made on the primary follow-up measures.

18.6.2025 | Senate Properties will begin a major renovation of the National Archives’ main building at Rauhankatu 17 in spring 2026. At the same time, the building will be adapted into a shared workspace for the National Archives, the Institute for the Languages of Finland, the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Accessibility Library Celia, and the Research Council of Finland. These agencies will move into the premises in autumn 2028.

1.2.2023 | Voluntary climate action is one way to promote climate work in Finland and globally. The guide published by the Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on 1 February outlines good practices for the voluntary carbon market. The guide aims to improve the reliability of the domestic carbon market and create opportunities for Finnish companies to act for the benefit of the climate.

29.11.2019 | In December last year, the Prime Minister's Office, together with the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, launched a service in which Finns can commit themselves to reducing their carbon footprint by devising individual plans. By the beginning of last week, a total of 1,379 Finns had already made their own commitment. On average, those who have made a commitment are ready to reduce their carbon footprint by around 22%.

18.2.2022 | Sectoral organisations, companies, counties, municipalities and other stakeholders are invited to participate in the preparation of a voluntary agreement on a low-carbon circular economy and to become partners to it. The agreement is part of Finland’s National Circular Economy Programme, and the aim is to promote the transition to a low-carbon circular economy society in different sectors.
