  4. 27.1.2026 | Prime Minister Petteri Orpo is in China for an official visit from 24 to 29 January. On Tuesday 27 January, Prime Minister Orpo met for separate discussions with President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji. In all three discussions, Prime Minister Orpo highlighted Finland’s and Europe’s support for Ukraine, EU-China relations and a variety of bilateral issues, including increasing Finland’s exports to China.

  13. 12.8.2025 | The Siikajoki Vapaaksi environmental association is set to restore the Pöyrynkoski rapids, enabling the free ascent of migratory fish in the river. The project was formally launched on Tuesday 12 August at Revonlahti School in Siikajoki, North Ostrobothnia. Formally conveying favourable greetings to the event, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sari Essayah noted that the project was a superb example of a remediation exercise promoted by local parties and prepared in broad partnership.

  14. 17.3.2025 | Finland participates in an EU project that aims to set up a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium where the focus is on mobility and logistics.   16. 15.6.2023 | The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health has decided that the compulsory stockpiles of a narrowspectrum antibiotic containing benzylpenicillin may fall below the amount required by law on the grounds of supply disruptions. This decision applies to two medicinal products of different strengths that are administered to patients intramuscularly or intravenously by a healthcare professional.
