9.4.2026 | The Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy has decided in favour of centralising the Government’s financial administration functions under the Government Shared Services Centre for Finance and HR (Palkeet). With the decision, the central government’s operational financial administration tasks and the information systems that support them will be transferred to Palkeet next year.

The IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS) ensures that Member States fulfil their international obligations and develop their maritime administration. Finland's audit takes place between 28 October and 4 November 2024 in Helsinki.

23.4.2025 | Prime Minister Petteri Orpo’s Government has agreed on the General Government Fiscal Plan for 2026–2029. The decisions focus on reinforcing the conditions for economic growth and enhancing the security of Finland and the Finnish people. 9.2.2024 | The Ministry of Transport and Communications has published Finland’s policies on procedures for enforcing the mandatory obligations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and for ensuring the compliance of the maritime administration. 23.6.2020 | The working group preparing the introduction of a lighter review than the statutory audit has com-pleted its work. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will circulate the working group's report for comments in autumn 2020.

16.12.2021 | On 16 December 2021, the President of the Republic approved a bill for an act on managing the programmes under the Home Affairs Funds and on implementing a grant scheme. The act will enter into force on 22 December 2021.

The prices of identity cards will remain unchanged. The changes reflect the cost-correlation of licences and permits.
