The international agreementregarding a disclosure requirement related to genetic resources aims to enhance the efficacy, transparency and quality of the patent system with regard to genetic resources and associated traditional knowledge.

The relative contribution of all copyright industries has slightly increased during the years under examination; while in 2016 this contribution was 5.44 percent, the respective figure for 2020 was 5.69 percent.

22.11.2022 | According to a comprehensive report on exports to China, Finnish companies’ business activities in China have had a positive impact on the parent companies’ activities in Finland. However, Finland has lost its market share of the value added consumed by China, and the focus of goods exports has shifted from machinery and equipment to raw materials and intermediate products. The outlook for exports is overshadowed by geopolitical risks, protectionism and a slowdown in China’s economic growth.

5.2.2019 | Minister of Transport and Communications Anne Berner met Francis Gurry, Director General of the UN World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), on 5 February 2019 in Helsinki. 31.12.2020 | The UK’s withdrawal from the EU will be complete on 1 January 2021. The Trade and Cooperation Agreement and the complementary agreements on security of classified information and nuclear cooperation, which were agreed by the EU Commission and the UK on 24 December 2020, will be applied provisionally from the beginning of the year. The agreements have not yet been ratified but the provisional application of the agreements prevents the UK’s withdrawal from the Union without a deal.

Strategian visiona on, että vuonna 2030 suomalainen aineettomien oikeuksien sääntely tukee innovaatiotoimintaa ja luovaa työtä. Tavoitteena on kasvattaa taloudellista hyvinvointia ja kilpailukykyä erilaiset yhteiskunnalliset intressit monipuolisesti huomioiden.

10.12.2021 | Arbets- och näringsministeriet ber om utlåtanden om strategin för immateriella rättigheter. Strategins vision är att den finländska regleringen av immateriella rättigheter år 2030 stöder innovationsverksamhet och kreativt arbete. Målet är att öka den ekonomiska välfärden och konkurrenskraften med beaktande av olika samhälleliga intressen på ett mångsidigt sätt.

18.6.2020 | Työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö on käynnistänyt työn aineettomien oikeuksien strategian laatimiseksi. Strategian tavoitteena on kehittää aineettomiin oikeuksiin liittyvää osaamista ja hallintoa ja tehdä nykytilannetta kehittäviä toimenpiteitä. Lisäksi on aloitettu selvitys aineettomien oikeuksien ja niiden käytön nykytilanteesta sekä tulevaisuuden haasteista.
