18.6.2025 | Senate Properties will begin a major renovation of the National Archives’ main building at Rauhankatu 17 in spring 2026. At the same time, the building will be adapted into a shared workspace for the National Archives, the Institute for the Languages of Finland, the Finnish National Agency for Education, the Accessibility Library Celia, and the Research Council of Finland. These agencies will move into the premises in autumn 2028.

13.5.2024 | The first prize in the competition for a grave memorial honouring President Martti Ahtisaari has been awarded to Harri Pakarinen for his design Blessed. 27.9.2021 | The Ministry of Education and Culture is requesting comments on a proposed bill to implement the provisions of the EU DSM Directive and Online Broadcasting Directive as part of Finnish law.  Implementing the directives requires significant changes to the Copyright Act. The request for comments is published in the Lausuntopalvelu.fi service. The deadline for submitting comments is 31 October 2021.

15.3.2022 | The week beginning on 21 March will be Åland Week in schools. Nearly 20 partners have been involved in putting together the programme for the week, which is coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Office and will feature events in various parts of Finland.
