22.1.2026 | The Public Sector Investment Facility (PIF) is one of Finland’s development policy instruments for financing investments in developing countries. PIF provides financial support to such public sector projects in developing countries that are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and that make use of Finnish technology and expertise.

22.1.2026 | Investointituki kehittyville maille on yksi Suomen kehityspoliittisista rahoitusinstrumenteista. Sillä tarjotaan investointitukea kehittyvien maiden julkisen sektorin hankkeisiin, jotka ovat YK:n kestävän kehityksen tavoitteiden mukaisia ja joissa hyödynnetään suomalaista osaamista ja teknologiaa.

Instrumentet erbjuder investeringsstöd för utvecklingsländers projekt inom den offentliga sektor som följer FN:s målsättningar för hållbar utveckling och som utnyttjar finländsk expertis och teknik.

29.10.2024 | On 29 October, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change Kai Mykkänen signed two Memorandums of Understanding promoting Finland–China cooperation on the environment and the circular economy.

23.2.2024 | Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will attend the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference on 26–29 February and the preceding meeting of EU trade ministers on 25 February in Abu Dhabi. Finland considers restoring the functioning of the WTO dispute settlement system to be a key theme at the Conference.

30.10.2023 | Finland and the Australian state of New South Wales will strengthen their cooperation to promote carbon neutrality and to develop solutions advancing it. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the matter was presented at an event in Australia on 30 October 2023. Finland was represented by Ambassador Satu Mattila-Budich.

3.2.2025 | Teollisuuspuistoilla on merkittävää rooli EU:n ja Suomen teollisuuspolitiikan strategisena työkaluna. Suomessa on meneillään ja suunnitteilla merkittäviä investointeja. Näiden toteutuminen edellyttää strategista ja pitkäjänteistä teollisuuspuistojen kehittämistä, tiivistä yhteistyötä valtion, kuntien ja aluetoimijoiden välillä sekä eri politiikkasektoreiden synergiaa.

För att dessa ska kunna förverkligas krävs det en strategisk och långsiktig utveckling av industriparkerna, ett nära samarbete mellan staten, kommunerna och de regionala aktörerna samt synergier mellan olika politiksektorer.

26.1.2021 | On 26 January 2021, the European Commission approved public support of EUR 2.9 billion proposed by 12 Member States to fund research and innovation projects in the battery sector. This public support is expected to generate private investments of EUR 9 billion. Finland will participate in the project and fund companies in the sector.

31.5.2021 | Chile will host two major virtual meetings on the energy sector on 31 May and 3 June 2021. The annual Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and the Mission Innovation (MI) technology meeting will bring together representatives from 25 major economies and the Nordic countries as well as the EU, the UN and international energy organisations to discuss how to accelerate the transition to clean energy solutions globally. Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä will represent Finland at the meetings.

17.12.2020 | Finland has joined the European Clean Hydrogen Alliance. The objective is to accelerate the industrial transformation towards the production and use of clean hydrogen as well as the development of new uses for hydrogen. This will contribute to Finland’s efforts to achieve its goal of carbon neutrality by 2035.

7.2.2020 | Mika Lintilä, Minister of Economic Affairs, will visit Dubai on 10–12/02/2020. The visit seeks to boost the economic relations between Finland and United Arab Emirates, promote the exports by Finnish businesses and to prepare for Finland’s participation at the Expo 2020 Dubai later this year.

9.7.2020 | Kansainvälinen energiajärjestö IEA järjestää 9.7.2020 yhden koronavuoden tärkeimmistä energia- ja ilmastokokouksista YK:n ilmastokokouksen (COP26) siirryttyä ensi vuodelle. Virtuaalisesti järjestettävässä huippukokouksessa keskustellaan laajasta yhteistyöstä, jolla edistetään talouden kestävää elpymistä koronakriisin jälkeen, luodaan työpaikkoja, vähennetään globaaleja kasvihuonekaasupäästöjä ja kehitetään energiajärjestelmistä aiempaa kestävämpiä.
