2.12.2020 | The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has adopted the first decisions concerning investment aid for projects that rapidly phase out the use of coal energy. Aid was granted to four projects totalling EUR 7,715,880. In 2011–2018 Kopola served as President and CEO of Suominen Corporation. Before that, she held various leading positions at Dynea in 2000–2011. 25.8.2023 | The proposal of the Ministry of Finance for the 2024 budget and spending limits for 2024–2027 ensures implementation of the policies in the Government Programme. The budget proposal totals EUR 87.2 billion, and a deficit of EUR 10.1 billion is proposed. The budget total is EUR 3.7 billion higher than the total budgeted for 2023, including the first supplementary budget. 21.11.2019 | On 21 November 2019, the Government appointed Riku Huttunen (M. Soc. Sc.) as Director-General of the Energy Department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment for a five-year period from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2024.
