It proposes that raising competence levels and preventing violence should be set as shared national goals across all work with children and young people.

25.10.2022 | Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Catherine Russell visited Finland and learned about the activities of the two UNICEF Global Innovation Hubs based in Helsinki. The Learning Innovation Hub and the Innovative Finance Hub were launched early this year.

The latest stage, which began in the 1990s, is characterised by a decline in the achieved learning outcomes, the plateauing of the rising level of education among Finns, as well as a gradual decrease in public input into education.

20.3.2023 | The priority theme of the 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), held in New York from 6 to 17 March 2023, was technology, innovation and education. The theme of technology and gender equality is important for Finland, and Finland is one of the leaders of the Action Coalition on Technology and Innovation for Gender Equality, which is part the Generation Equality Forum, a global campaign led by UN Women.

The survey, held every three years, again ranked Finnish 15-year-olds among top performers in reading literacy in OECD countries. Compared with 2015, Finnish students’ mathematical literacy also remained unchanged, but performance in science literacy declined.

1.6.2021 | Högnivådelegationen för teknik har lagt fram sina förslag till riktlinjer för Finlands teknikpolitik på 2020-talet. Förslagen inkluderar bland annat FUI-satsningar, större antal sakkunniga samt effektivisering av den offentliga förvaltningen med hjälp av automatisering. Delegationen överlämnade sin rapport till kommunminister Sirpa Paatero den 1 juni 2021.
