8.4.2020 | The Government has reached agreement on the second supplementary budget proposal for 2020 and the General Government Fiscal Plan for 2021-2024. The second supplementary budget proposal focuses on the costs caused by the coronavirus epidemic. In the administrative branch of the Ministry of Education and Culture, appropriations are proposed for alleviating the financial distress of actors in the culture and sport sectors, among other things.

17.7.2019 | On Thursday 18 July, Minister for European Affairs Tytti Tuppurainen will attend the first General Affairs Council during Finland’s Presidency in Brussels. Minister Tuppurainen will chair the Council meeting where the agenda highlights include negotiations on the multiannual financial framework of the EU (2021–2027), implementation of the EU’s Strategic Agenda (2019–2024) and the rule of law. Finland will also present the priorities for its Presidency to the Council.

20.11.2024 | Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö on jakanut tämän vuoden Suomi-palkinnot kaikkiaan kahdeksalle taiteilijalle ja toimijalle. Palkinnon saavat kuraattori Maaretta Jaukkuri, kirjailija Siri Kolu, ohjaaja Tiina Lymi, kuvataiteilija Outi Pieski, kapellimestari Dalia Stasevska, kirjailija Pajtim Statovci, teatteri Sirkus Suosalo ja kuvanveistäjä, korutaiteilija Björn Weckström. Lisäksi Suomen Lasimuseo palkittiin kunniakirjalla.

Prisen gick till kurator Maaretta Jaukkuri, författaren Siri Kolu, regissören Tiina Lymi, bildkonstnären Outi Pieski, kapellmästaren Dalia Stasevska, författaren Pajtim Statovci, teatern Sirkus Suosalo samt skulptören och smyckeskonstnären Björn Weckström. Dessutom belönades Finlands glasmuseum med ett diplom.

Among this year’s prize winners were Maaretta Jaukkuri, curator; Siri Kolu, author; Tiina Lymi, director; Outi Pieski, visual artist; Dalia Stasevska, conductor; Pajtim Statovci, author; Sirkus Suosalo theatre; and Björn Weckström, sculptor and jewellery artist. In addition, the Finnish Glass Museum was awarded an honorary diploma.
