Nordic prime ministers to meet in Helsinki
On Tuesday 1 November, the Nordic prime ministers will meet in Helsinki in connection with the 2022 Session of the Nordic Council.
The Nordic prime ministers will have a meeting together with representatives of the autonomous regions of Åland, Faroe Islands and Greenland. Topics on the agenda for the meeting include the consequences of Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, Nordic contributions to the green transition, and the Nordic countries’ goal of becoming the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030.
While in Helsinki, the prime ministers will also attend the Session of the Nordic Council. The Council has invited the prime ministers to exchange views at an afternoon summit.
The Nordic prime ministers and the Head of Government of Åland will hold a press conference on 1 November at 10.30 and it will be streamed on Finnish Governments YouTube.
The ministerial meetings held during the session will be chaired by Norway, which currently holds the Presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
