Prime Ministers of Finland and Luxembourg discuss common EU policy goals
Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin visited Luxembourg on 10 February at the invitation of the country’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel. The prime ministers discussed current EU policy issues and bilateral relations between the countries.
“Finland and Luxembourg share common European values. Important topics for both of us include ambitious climate targets, human rights and equality, and the rule of law. We work closely together in the EU, particularly on economic issues,” says Prime Minister Marin.
Finland and Luxembourg share many EU policy objectives. The topics discussed included deepening the single market, strengthening our competitiveness by investing in education and innovation, and an active and open trade policy. The prime ministers also discussed continuing strong economic, material and arms assistance to Ukraine. Finland’s upcoming NATO membership will further strengthen the partnership between Finland and Luxembourg.
This was Prime Minister Marin’s first visit to Luxembourg.
