German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel to Finland
The Federal Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, will visit Helsinki on Monday, 30 March on the invitation of Prime Minister Alexander Stubb.
In their meeting, Prime Minister Stubb and Chancellor Merkel will discuss the situation in Ukraine and matters relating to Russia and the euro area economy. Other topics will include the EU's Eastern Partnership and its Common Security and Defence Policy.
The press conference by the Prime Minister and the Federal Chancellor will be broadcast live on Monday 30 March at 15.00 at vn.fi/live.
Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Stubb will participate in an EU foreign and security policy discussion forum organised by the Prime Minister's Office, the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and the University of Helsinki. The discussion will be broadcast live on Monday 30 March at 16.30 at vn.fi/live.
During her visit in Finland, Chancellor Merkel will also meet President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö.
