On 6 February, the Government submitted a proposal for provisions on export authorisation for ammunition. The proposal supplements the European Union's sanctions legislation.
The aim is to prevent the export of cartridge components to Russia in particular. Cartridge components are cases, primers, gunpowder, bullets and projectiles for use in firearms.
Provisions would also be added to the Criminal Code on a punishment for unauthorised export of cartridge components.
The aim is to complement the existing sanctions regimes to prevent them from being circumvented.
