Minister Mykkänen to visit Italy and Greece

Minister of the Interior Kai Mykkänen will visit Italy and Greece on 27–30 January. During his visit Mykkänen will meet, for example Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Interior Matteo Salvini and Greek Minister for Immigration Policy Dimitris Vitsas. Mykkänen will also visit a first reception centre (hotspot) on the Greek islands.

"I will exchange ideas with my Italian and Greek colleagues, for example about Finland’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the reform of the Common European Asylum System and migration in general," says Mykkänen.

Minister Mykkänen will also meet representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Italy and Greece.
