Draft investment strategy of Finnish Industry Investment Tesi circulated for comments
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment requests comments on the working group’s draft investment strategy of Finnish Industry Investment (Tesi). The deadline for submitting comments is 14 October 2024.
Finnish Industry Investment will have a new, more prominent role where the focus will be on economic growth, renewal and promoting investments. Tesi’s resources will also be strengthened to ensure its capability to carry out its new tasks.
According to the proposal, all investment operations of Tesi would be reformed. The total volumes of the investments will be doubled and the volumes of direct investment operations will increase more than five-fold. Of the investment operations, 60 percent will be targeted to completely new tasks and 40 percent of the operations will be significantly reformed. According to the investment plan, Tesi’s investments in 2025–2029 will total EUR 1.8 billion which, besides this, will channel almost EUR 12 billion in private growth capital to the market.
After the consultation, the proposal will be submitted to Minister of Economic Affairs Wille Rydman.
According to the programme of Petteri Orpo’s Government, the state capital investment activities will be enhanced by bringing them under Finnish Industry Investment Group. The reformed Finnish Industry Investment will start operating in the beginning of 2025.
