Finnair CEO resigns

Finnair Plc announced today the resignation of its CEO Mika Vehviläinen. Under Vehviläinen's management, Finnair has been able to restore its finances to a sound basis – a fact now visible in the company's positive financial result. The company's Board of Directors is responsible, as usual, for the arrangements and dissemination of information relating to the change of CEO.

Finnair will carry on implementing is strategy based on Asian traffic and its austerity programme. The CEO's resignation has no connection with or impact on possible ownership arrangements considered by Finnair's main owner.
