President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discuss crisis management operations, Defence Report and situation in Afghanistan

In their meeting on Thursday 26 August 2021, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy agreed that Finland would increase its participation in the EU military crisis management training mission in Mali to some 20 soldiers in 2021 and to some 55 soldiers in 2022. In addition, the President and the Committee agreed that Finland would prepare to participate in the EU military crisis management training mission in Mozambique.

In addition, the President and the Ministerial Committee discussed  the Government’s Defence Report. 

The meeting also discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.
