Prime Ministers of Finland and Sweden to meet in Harpsund
Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will visit Sweden on Friday 25 August at the invitation of Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. This will be Orpo’s first visit to Sweden as Prime Minister.
According to tradition, the Finnish Prime Minister usually visits both Tallinn and Stockholm shortly after the appointment of a new Government. Orpo and Kristersson have already met twice this summer: first at the meeting of Nordic Prime Ministers in Iceland and then at the European Council in Brussels.
Friday’s meeting will take place at the Swedish Prime Minister’s summer residence in Harpsund. Among other topics, the Prime Ministers are expected to discuss support for Ukraine, relations between Finland and Sweden, defence cooperation, the overall security situation, the green transition and competitiveness, topical EU matters and other international issues.
