Minister of Transport and Communications Lulu Ranne will attend the informal meeting of EU transport ministers in Warsaw, Poland, on 17 and 18 March 2025. The meeting was convened by the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Items on the agenda include cybersecurity and operational reliability of the transport sector. The meeting will discuss the strengthening of military mobility in Europe and the use of transport infrastructure for both civil and military transport services.

“Transport infrastructure efficiency is also a question of security. Finland plays an important role here too, as a country on the external border of both the EU and NATO. If Finland’s infrastructure stalls or collapses, the whole of Europe will suffer. Civil and military mobility must go hand in hand and funding for the most urgent security infrastructure must be prioritised at EU level,” says Minister of Transport and Communications Ranne.

This will be an informal meeting where no decisions are taken.
