The export of ammunition intended for civilian use will become subject to authorisation. In its session on 22 May, the Government proposed that the President of the Republic approve the bill for the relevant act on Friday 23 May. The act is scheduled to enter into force on 2 June 2025. It supplements the European Union's sanctions legislation.
The aim is to prevent the export of cartridge components to Russia in particular. Cartridge components are cases, primers, gunpowder, bullets and projectiles for use in firearms.
In addition, unauthorised export of cartridge components will be criminalised under the Criminal Code.
