18.6.2025 | The Ministry of the Interior has issued a new decree on fees charged by the police. The amendments apply to the fees for passports and identity cards as well as for firearms licences and private security sector licences. 19.3.2019 | On 19 March, Parliament adopted a government proposal to amend the Firearms Act and the Act on Voluntary National Defence. 22.5.2025 | The export of ammunition intended for civilian use will become subject to authorisation. In its session on 22 May, the Government proposed that the President of the Republic approve the bill for the relevant act on Friday 23 May. The act is scheduled to enter into force on 2 June 2025. 30.5.2024 | Finnish Government submitted to Parliament a proposal on the acceptance and bringing into force of the Defence Cooperation Agreement between Finland and the United States on 30 May. The proposal consists of the act bringing into force the agreement and ten related acts.
