An updated Welcome to Finland guide has been published. Statutory distributors of the guide have received updated instructions for ordering and distributing the guide. Other bodies can order a Welcome to Finland postcard that directs their customers to read the guide on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. In connection with the update, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment will publish new language versions of the brochure in Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

The Welcome to Finland guide is now available in 12 languages and the brochure in 15 languages. A printed guide is available in Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. The versions in other languages, i.e. Estonian, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Persian, Somali and Turkish, can be accessed online. The brochures are also available in Thai, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

Welcome to Finland is an information package

The Welcome to Finland guide is an information package referred to in the Act on the Promotion of Immigration Integration. The Act obligates the authorities to provide information about the Finnish society to those moving to Finland.

The guide is only available from statutory bodies, i.e. the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, the Finnish Immigration Service, and Finnish missions abroad. People moving to Finland receive the guide when they are granted a residence permit, register their right of residence, receive a residence card or register at their local register office and in the Population Information System.

Other bodies can order a Welcome to Finland postcard to distribute to their customers. The card directs the customers to read the guide on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The guide is published at www.tem.fi/tervetuloa-suomeen on the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

Material for the guide is based on the InfoFinland website

The guide was updated in cooperation with the InfoFinland online service and the authorities in autumn 2021 and spring 2022. The material for the updated edition of Welcome to Finland and its language versions are based on the InfoFinland online service. Thanks to cooperation with InfoFinland, authorities can easily and efficiently check and update the information for the guide.

The authorities with integration responsibilities each update the InfoFinland material together with the editors of InfoFinland. The Centre of Expertise in Immigrant Integration at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment coordinates the updating and distribution of the guide.

Leaflet sums up the content of the guide

A leaflet, printed in all the languages of the guide, has also been published as a material for Welcome to Finland. In addition, the leaflet is now available in Thai, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. The leaflet contains important information for immigrants in a compact form and guides the readers to consult the full guide online at the website of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
