Competition for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards begins

The European Enterprise Promotion Awards reward the most successful promoters of entrepreneurship and business across Europe. The awards highlight the best entrepreneurial practices, raise awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship and encourage and inspire Europeans to become entrepreneurs.

The national part of the competition will begin on 2 April and end on 26 May 2025. Two applications from the national competition will be selected for the European competition. The results of the European competition will be announced in November 2025.

Participation in the competition is open to national organisations, regions, cities and communities as well as public-private partnerships, entrepreneurial training programmes and business organisations. SMEs can also take part in the category of ‘Responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship’.

There are six categories within the awards:

  • Improving the business environment and promoting the entrepreneurial spirit
  • Investing in entrepreneurial skills  
  • Supporting the digital transition
  • Supporting the internationalisation of business
  • Supporting the sustainable transition  
  • Responsible and inclusive entrepreneurship

The applications for projects and initiatives to develop entrepreneurship and business conditions will be evaluated based on their originality, feasibility and transferability, improvement of local stakeholder relations and the effects on the local economy.
